Philly Principal Removed After Teacher Beaten By Students: Report

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The principal of a Philadelphia high school has been removed after one of his teachers was beaten by three teens inside his classroom on Wednesday, according to reports.

Gene Jones has reportedly been reassigned to a different school after the attack at George Washington High SChool at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Brian Swift, 41, tried to lock the teens out of his classroom when he saw they were on the way, NBC Philadelphia reports.

One teen came in immediately, however, and while Swift was trying to call police, the other two broke in as well, the report states.

Two of them then held Swift down while the third beat him, leaving him with a swollen jaw and bruised ribs, according to the report.

Swift said he will remain at his post, and was optimistic that things would continue to improve.
