Ribbon Cutting Of Iconic Manayunk Bridge Scheduled

The iconic bridge is set to finally reopen to bikers, runners, and walkers.

When residents of communities surrounding Manayunk think of Manayunk, they likely think of one of the first things they see heading toward the neighborhood: the iconic and historic Manayunk Bridge over the Schuylkill River.

The cement trusses arching over the Schuylkill River have long fascinated artists, walkers, runners, and bikers - and now they’ll all have the chance to appreciate the bridge up close.

The bridge will officially reopen during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, October 30 at 11 a.m. at Dupont and High Street in Manayunk.

Once part of a now defunct rail line, the bridge will be part of a trail that connects Manayunk to the Cynwyd Trail across the river in Montgomery County.

Officials will join community members for the official ribbon cutting.
