Roxborough HS Has Lowest Average ACT Score In PA
Quite a few other Philadelphia schools had low average ACT scores, as well.

ROXBOROUGH, PHILADELPHIA – The Pennsylvania Department of Education recently released its list of 2016 ACT scores for public high schools in the state. While some schools are cheering at the high average scored, others are probably figuring out what they can do to improve low scores. Roxborough High School is among the latter.
According to data from the department, Roxborough HS has an average ACT score of 13, giving it the lowest average ACT score of any public high school in the state.
Sixteen students at the school took the test in 2016, earning an average score of 12 in English, 13 in reading 15 in math, and 13 science. The average for writing scores was not provided in the data.

Philadelphia's John Bartram Main, Frankford, Benjamin Franklin, Martin Luther King, and William L. Sayre high schools all earned an average score of 14.
Julia R. Masterman School earned the highest average ACT score with 30.

The ACT is scored from of a low of 1 to a top score of 36 and are the average of sectional scores in English, math, reading and science.
The average ACT score in Pennsylvania is 20.8.
