Roxborough's The Foodery Expanding Into Suburbs

Roxborough residents won't be the only ones in the area to enjoy the services of the popular deli and bottle shop.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- The Foodery, a gourmet deli with a wide selection of craft beer bottles, is coming to downtown Phoenixville.

The Philadelphia-based chain will move into the old location of the Family Dollar on 325 Bridge Street, according to Philly.com

The Foodery’s website reads:

Our passion is craft beer. Our mission is to provide Philadelphia with the most complete collection of craft and import bottles. With over 2000 bottles and 4 stores, the Foodery is Philadelphia’s premier bottle shop.

The Foodery will add to the borough’s fledgling craft beer scene. It will be just a few short blocks away from Stable 12 Brewing. And in the spring, the Reading-based Chatty Monks Brewery will move into a Main Street location.

The Foodery, described as a “beer emporium,” already has three locations in Philadelphia, including Roxborough, Northern Liberties, and Center City.

The store is known for more than just its wide beer selection, however.

While it’s unclear exactly what amenities the larger, 7,000 square foot Phoenixville location will offer, other locations offer in-store seating where customers can sit and drink their beer. Their menu includes sandwiches, salads, and a wide variety of snacks.

In Center City, there are televisions. Philadelphia locations also order delivery services.

Owners have set July as a tentative open date.
