SEPTA Bus Slides Backward Down Manayunk Hill, Hits Hydrant: Report

A SEPTA bus trying to ascend one of Manayunk's many hilly streets Monday night slid backward and hit a fire hydrant.

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — A SEPTA bus was in a predicament Monday night as it tried to navigate Manayunk's hills in the snow.

NBC10 reports the Route 27 bus at about 8:30 p.m. was trying to ascend a hill in the neighborhood when it started to slide backward.

The bus slid into a fire hydrant near Manayunk Avenue and Burnside Street, the outlet reports.
