A SEPTA bus fatally struck a pedestrian in Philadelphia early Tuesday and kept going for five blocks, according to reports.

A SEPTA bus fatally struck a pedestrian in Center City Philadelphia early Tuesday and kept going for five blocks, according to reports.

The bus hit a man around 1 a.m. at 11th and Walnut and “apparently” the driver did know that he struck a pedestrian, Chief Inspector Scott Small told CBS Philly. The bus reportedly kept going for five blocks.

A witness notified a nearby uniformed police officer and the bus was stopped, CBS Philly said.

The victim was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, The Inquirer said.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
