Shawmont Elementary awarded Whole Foods, Whole Kids Foundation grant!

Whole Foods, Whole Kids Foundation has awarded Shawmont Elementary Home & School a $2000 grant in support of the Krista Harron Spera Memorial Community Garden.

The grant will be used to upgrade the fencing and beds in the garden as well as purchase necessary tools, equipment, and supplies including plants and soil.

Krista Harron Spera was a beloved kindergarten teacher at Shawmont Elementary when she lost her battle with cancer in August 2015. The garden was founded through the generous donations given to a gofund me page created by Home and School.
