SOMO Offering New Cheesesteak For Free On National Sandwich Day

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA – If you are free for lunch Friday, Nov. 3, you may want to head to SOMO in Manayunk, as the eatery is offering customers a new cheesesteak on their menu for free.

All SOMO customers can get the new FOMO cheesesteak from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 3 in celebration of National Sandwich Day while supplies last.

The new steak sandwich is fulled with chunks of tender filet mignon tips, a triple cream Brie sauce, caramelized onion jam, oyster mushrooms braised in black truffle butter and baby arugula with homemade malt vinegar and molasses steak sauce, all served on a butter-toasted Baker Street Bakery baguette.

The name is a nod to the popular millennial acronym FOMO which stands for "fear of missing out."

"You may need to grab some extra napkins to catch the rich, juicy goodness dripping from the sandwich, but it’s worth getting messy, and it’s a serious value at $15," SOMO's Consulting Chef Eric Hall said.

"While it may have a hipster name, there’s nothing trendy about this masterpiece," restaurateur James Morrissey said. "It’s a badass cheesesteak – one that you’re not going to find anywhere else."

SOMO is located at 4311 Main St. in Manayunk.
