'Spirit of Manayunk' Scholarship Application Deadline Extended

The deadline for high school seniors to apply for the 2015 Neducsin Foundation “Spirit of Manayunk” Scholarship has been extended until Monday, March 9 at 5 p.m.

This year, scholarships will be awarded to four individual students who live in zip codes 19127 or 19128, according to information from North Light Community Center.

“The students must demonstrate a commitment to their community through involvement and service. Scholarships are to be used at accredited four year colleges or universities. The award in the total amount of $30,000 will be available for the academic year beginning September, 2015,” North Light said.

Since the scholarship fund was established in 1995, 62 local high school students have received partial scholarships.

Applications can be downloaded from the Neducsin Properties website www.neducsin.com or www.northlightcommunitycenter.org.

Applications submitted on Monday, March 9 should be dropped to North Light’s office between 9 am and 5 pm. Applications may also be submitted at anytime from Friday until Monday at 9 am by dropping them in North Light’s mail slot in the short door on Green Lane (located between the gym entrance and the steps to the playground).

Transcripts/references being sent directly to North Light from the source will be accepted through Tuesday, March 10 for applications submitted by the deadline.
