Victim Of Fiery South Philadelphia Fatal Crash Identified

PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia Police have released the identity of the 23-year-pld man killed in an alleged drag racing crash in South Philadelphia.

Police said Elias Lebron Torres, 23, of the 4400 block of Carwithan Street, died in the crash that occurred Friday night near the sport complexes on the 600 block of Pattison Avenue.

Torres was driving a Jeep Cherokee and lost control, hitting several trees and guard rail, at about 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, police said. The vehicle burst into flames after the crash.

He suffered internal injuries and was pronounced on the scene at 11:45 P.M.

Police are investigating the fatal crash.
