White House Prompted McMaster's Roxborough Death Probe: Report

ROXBOROUGH, PHILADELPHIA – The White House called the Philadelphia Police Department Homicide Unit to inquire about the death of H.R. McMaster Sr. at Cathedral Village in Roxborough, according to a new report form Philly.com.

During testimony at the hearing for Christann Gainey, accused of not conducting a neurological check on H.R. McMaster Sr., 84, after he fell and hit his head on April 12 while he was at the community, a staff member of the Philadelphia Medical Examiner's office said police told him White House officials inquired about the death, the outlet reports.

H.R. McMaster Sr. died on April 13 and is the father of former National Security Advisor to the Trump Administration H.R. McMaster.

Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Albert Chu said in court Tuesday that he was told on April 16 that the White House called police about the death. The police-led investigation began April 16.

Gainey, a licensed practical nurse who was contracted to work at Cathedral Village, is facing charges of felony neglect, involuntary manslaughter, and falsifying records charges.

In a report from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Cathedral Village itself is accused of ignoring duties leading up to and after McMaster's death, including failing to conduct neurological checks after four other falls McMaster suffered and failing to create plans to curb more falls.

Gainey's hearing was continued to July 9 after the June 5 hearing, court records show.
