Winnie's Gets National Women's Business Enterprise Certification

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — A staple in Manayunk's food scene has earned national recognition from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.

Winnie’s Manayunk recently announced its national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE), from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

"This recognition is a great honor for me and also for my team, who share in this success,” said Owner Winnie Clowry. "WBENC’s Certification aligns with our values here at Winnie’s and our commitment to Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion. I believe that we have a great responsibility to set an example for other women and minority-owned organizations that leading with goodwill and kindness can guide you on the path of success."

WBENC Certification is one of the most recognized and respected national certifications for women-owned businesses in the U.S.

To become a WBENC-Certified WBE, Winnie’s Manayunk underwent a rigorous certification process, including an in-depth review of the business.

The process is designed to confirm that the business is over 51 percent owned, operated, and or controlled by a woman.

As they enter their 20-year mark in business leading with their unique values and mindset, not only has Winnie’s Manayunk provided healthy menu options for their patrons but has also always taken the extra mile to support non-profit organizations, businesses, and members within the surrounding communities.

Winnie’s most recent venture came about after nominating the restaurant to be the premiere caterer for Philadelphia’s Women Triathlon, donating food items for over 2,000 athletes.

Additionally, Winnie’s has been the preferred caterer for several iconic Philadelphia events, including the Broad Street Run, the Philadelphia Marathon, and the Dad Vail Regatta.
