Hands-On Wood Finishing Instruction
March 15th - 8am to 3pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 sessions,
Many woodworkers find finishing to be a mysterious process. Once you understand how different stains and finishes work, you will be able to choose and apply the most appropriate products for your project and create the look you are after.
This class covers surface preparation, color, sealing, pore-filling, glazing, and toning. Students will be using brushes and spray guns to apply: oil finishes, wiping varnish, polyurethane, two-part finishes, shellac, lacquer, and water-based finishes. A thorough understanding of solvents and strippers, rubbing out finishes, and caring for finishes will demystify the craft of finishing for you.
