The B. F. Wilson Family of Glen Osborne & Their Famous Dogs

This Sewickley Valley Historical Society program will feature an illustrated presentation and book signing by Richard Le Beau, American Kennel Club Judge, with comments by Heather Semple, Director of Arts Programs at The Duquesne Club.Β  LeBeau's recently published book, Count Noble: The Greatest Dog That Ever Lived, will be for sale at the event for $14, plus tax.Β 

A painting of Count Noble hangs in The Duquesne Club.Β  The dog was owned by Glen Osborne resident B. F. Wilson (1830-1896), and an English Toy Spaniel, the first registered by the American Kennel Club, was owned by Wilson's wife, Susannah (1847-1919).Β  LeBeau's talk will include genealogicalΒ data on the Wilson family and photographs of their Glen Osborne home as well as information on their dogs.Β  An historic marker commemorating these famous canines will be erected in Glen Osborne in the near future.

The program, followed by light refreshments,Β is free and open to the public.
