Quaker Valley Makes Newsweek's Top 1,000 Public High Schools List
The Newsweek ranking notes schools that "have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads."
Quaker Valley High School is rated in the top 1,000 public high schools in the country in a Newsweek ranking released this week.
Quaker Valley ranked 648th in the nation. Of the 36 Pennsylvania public schools that made the list, Quaker Valley is 22nd.

Newsweek noted that Quaker Valley has a 99 percent graduation rate, with 85 percent of its graduates heading to college.
It also noted average test scores are 1608 for the SAT, 24.1 for the ACT, and 3.6 out of 5 for AP tests.

Schools administrators provided Newsweek with six components for the rankings; the percentages in parentheses indicate the weight the categories carry in the review process: graduation rate (25 percent), college matriculation rate (25 percent), AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student (25 percent), average SAT/ACT scores (10 percent), average AP/IB/AICE scores (10 percent), and AP courses offered per student (5 percent).

Fox Chapel Area ranked 488th,
Mt. Lebanon ranked 518th,
North Allegheny ranked 624th,
ranked 627th,
ranked 648th, and
Hampton ranked 662nd.
