Sewickley Academy Grad Lands Key Theater Role

A Sewickley Academy graduate has landed a lead role in a Copenhagen, Denmark theater company performance.

Vergia Siovhan (Norris) Christensen was cast as Cinderella in the Copenhagen Theatre Circle performance. The show runs from Dec. 15 to Jan. 7 and brings the family tradition of English pantomime to the theater. During performances, the audience is invited to participate, such as yelling  “boo” when one of the evil characters appears on stage. Exchanges between the audience and cast are frequent.

Christenson, 27, is a 2002 graduate of and a 2006 graduate of DePaul University Theatre Conservatory in Chicago.

A recent newlywed, she is married to her husband Bjork Christensen of Copenhagen, Denmark where they both reside. 

Christensen, who was raised in Moon and Robinson townships, is the daughter of Rev. Urie and Denise L. Norris of Robinson.
