• Meet the Schuylkill County Marching Bands 2026: Shenandoah Valley Blue Devil Marching Band (skooknews.com) — Shenandoah Valley's Blue Devil Marching Band is gearing up for a high-energy Bruno Mars–themed field show as it celebrates 99 years of music. With 60 musicians, a large band front, and student leaders from grades 6–12, the band will perform at local football games and fairs, and will even host the Schuylkill County Band Festival in February 2027.
   

• H.S. FOOTBALL: Shenandoah Valley, Pine Grove earn wins on Saturday night (republicanherald.com) — Shenandoah Valley football fans can celebrate a big 45–26 comeback win over Marian Catholic, powered by a six-touchdown night from junior quarterback Ethan Bench. The Blue Devils, now 4–1, will host Minersville this Friday, while Pine Grove also picked up a strong victory behind a huge rushing performance from senior Logan Troup.
   

• Schuylkill County Obituaries for September 28, 2026 (skooknews.com) — Shenandoah and nearby communities are mourning several longtime residents, including Constance "Connie" Taylor, a Shenandoah Valley High School graduate and active member of local parish and civic groups. Her funeral services will be held Thursday, October 1, at Oravitz Home for Funerals in Shenandoah, while Elizabeth Ann Ryan's Mass will take place Saturday in St. Clair.
