$30K Raised For Delco Catholic School Damaged In Massive Fire
A fire ripped through Our Lady of Angels Regional Catholic School in Morton last week and a fundraiser for it has eclipsed its initial goal.

MORTON, PA – A week ago, a massive fire ripped through the Our Lady of Angels Regional Catholic School in Morton.
And since then a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help recoup losses incurred by the fire.
The fundraiser had an initial goal of $15,000.

But in just eight days, that goal has been more than doubled.
So far, more than 550 people have raised nearly $35,000 as of the afternoon of Friday, July 27.

The fire broke out at about 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 19.
The fire was raised to three alarms shortly after it began, according to the Holmes Fire Company.
No one was was injured in the fire.
A new boiler was installed in the school Wednesday before the fire broke out.
The school's gym, officer, and a statue of the Virgin Mary were saved by firefighters responding to the huge fire.
There is no word yet on what exactly caused the fire.

Additionally, the Ridley YMCA is collecting classroom supplies to help the school.
Anyone wishing to contribute to the effort can drop them off at the Ridley YMCA, 900 South Ave., Clifton Heights, PA 19018, or their Lansdowne branch at 2110 Garrett Road, Lansdowne.
