4 People Saved From Burning Delco Home: Police

Two Delaware County police officers entered a burning home to save four residents. One officer suffered burns and smoke inhalation.

RIDLEY PARK, PA — A Delaware County house caught fire Wednesday and several people in the home were rescued by first police, according to reports and officials.

Action News reports the fire broke out at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at a home on the 100 block of West Ridley Avenue in Ridley Park.

Ridley Park Police said Officers Michael Hanly and Jason Golden saved four people from the burning home. Hanly was hospitalized with burns and smoke inhalation but has since been released and sent home, police said.

According to the Delaware County Daily Times, an off-duty Boeing firefighter and a passing motorist helped at the scene.

The outlet reports the home is subdivided into six apartments, four of which were occupied.
