Aqua To Replace All Delaware County Water Meters
Removing old meters and installing new meters will take about less than an hour per meter, the company said.

Aqua Pennsylvania is now beginning a countywide water meter replacement program in Delaware County, the water company announced.
Aqua customers will get their first notification via a letter in the mail when the program moves to their community, the company said.
“Providing quality drinking water and ensuring that it is there when our customers need it is an awesome responsibility,” Aqua President Marc Lucca said in the announcement. “It might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about managing this resource, but meters play a critical role in that effort. The average lifetime of a meter is between 15 and 20 years. As our meters begin to approach that mark, we replace them with new meters in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.”

Delaware County customers will start getting letters with instructions on how to contact the company or its contractors to make the appointment to have their meters replaced, the company said. Removing the old meter and installing the new one takes less than an hour, according to Aqua.
As a reminder, Aqua wants customers that their employees drive Aqua-branded vehicles, wear uniforms with and Aqua logo and carry photo identification cards with the company logo as well. Aqua's contractors will be clothed differently, but will have similar photo identification cards, the company said. Further, because appointments are necessary for all in-home meter exchanges, the customers will know on what day and time to expect a visit from Aqua employees or contractors.
