Chick-fil-A in Springfield Park at Baltimore Pike and Woodland Avenue, Springfield, Pa., was packed today, Aug. 1, with a racially mixed crowd of moms, store clerks and contractors. All tables were filled and the lunch line went from the counter to the entrance. Today was declared to be Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day by conservative groups after Chief Operating Officer Dan Cathy came under fire from activist and Democrat politicians after expressing disapproval of gay marriage.
Regulars say the lunch-time crowd far exceeded the norm and the store manager found himself having to go outside and unravel traffic snarls.
