Term limits anyone?
Springfield Township trails behind Camden (yes, Camden) in several ways. Here's how...

Regardless of which side of the political aisle you stand on, the American public should be fairly disappointed and embarrassed by the performance of its Congressional leaders. It failed to pass a balanced budget on time; it failed to pass a bill regarding expanded background checks for gun purchases despite numerous polls indicating public support for the idea; and every day it continues to experience legislative gridlock, it demonstrates how little it cares about the taxpayers paying their salaries. The lackluster performance of Congress makes me wonder why we as voters fail to expect more of our politicians at every level of government, especially at the local level. Last week, I signed up to receive an e-newsletter from the City of Camden regarding its Request for Proposals (...I'm a professional grant writer, so I keep tabs on funding opportunities for social service programs) and each week I receive a listing of all bidding opportunities, upcoming special events for business owners and families, and updates regarding various community projects in Camden. The only newsletter I receive from my Township comes by snail mail just around election time! As a candidate for the Springfield Township Board of Commissioners - 4th Ward, I enthusiastically support imposing term limits and bringing our Township into the 21st century when it comes to utilizing technology to streamline and improve services. At the very least, we shouldn't be falling behind Camden! I would love to hear from fellow residents of Springfield to see where you stand on the issue of term limits for Township Commissioners.
