Burglary, Thefts, DUI, More: Springfield Police Blotter
Police said Smashburger on South State Road was burglarized and a safe was stolen from inside it. See the full police report here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – The most recent Springfield Police blotter was released earlier this week, and it contains eight separate incidents handled last week.
Police dealt with a commercial burglary, DUI, thefts, resisting arrest, and more.

June 5, 7:57 a.m.
Damage was found to the wooden railing securing the Old Central School building consisting of broken spindles. This damage occurred sometime during last weekend, and investigation revealed two males and three females had kicked the spindles breaking them off the railing. Det. Nutley was able to quickly identify all five juvenile suspects, who are all Springfield residents, and will be continuing the investigation.
June 5, 12:20 p.m.
A resident of the 500 block Barry Drive. reported sometime between 11 a.m. and midnight someone stole an Amazon package from his front porch.

June 5, 5:13 p.m.
Officers investigated a one vehicle crash on Springfield Road at Highland Road. Investigation showed the driver of the vehicle intoxicated on heroin. He was treated by medical personnel and submitted to a blood test at the hospital. Charges will be filed against the 52-year-old male from West Chester.
June 6, 2:24 p.m.
A Florida woman who had just came from the airport enroute to visit family stopped at Chick-Fil-A and had her purse stolen from the back of a chair while she ate. Cash and credit cards were taken, and investigation showed the cards used at the Target Store soon after the theft. Det. McNeely is investigating.
June 6, 5:47 p.m.
A resident of the 400 block East Woodland Avenue reported a decorative Baltimore Ravens flag taken from outside his apartment.
June 6, 6:40 p.m.
Target at the mall security reported observing a male subject in the men’s clothing department selecting items of clothing and placing them in a shopping cart. He then concealed the clothing in a bag and tried to leave without paying. Kamorrie Brown 29, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody and charged with retail theft. He was taken to Springfield Court for arraignment.
June 7, 11:25 p.m.
Officers responded to the Marriott Courtyard Hotel to investigate a disturbance involving a male and female staying at the hotel. The two were involved in a physical altercation in which the male was accused of pushing the female’s head against the bathroom wall causing a laceration. As officers made contact with the male, the male was belligerent, and used his chest to bump an officer multiple times. The male was taken into custody and identified as Matthew Long 29, of Havertown. He was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and other charges.
June 7, 7:29 a.m.
Officers responded to the Smashburger, 400 block South State Road, to investigate a burglary. Employees reported that sometime overnight, someone entered the business through the rear door and removed a business safe from an office. Det. McNeely is investigating.
