Car Breaks-Ins, Thefts, More: Springfield Crime Blotter

A 15-year-old boy was found carrying a backpack full of Michelob Ultra and was turned over to his mother, police said.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter recently.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Aug. 30 and Sept. 2.

Aug. 30
During the early morning hours, several unlocked cars were entered on the 100 block of Fairview Road and the 200 block of South Highland Road. A laptop, a wallet and credit cards were some of the items stolen.

Sept. 1, 5:05 a.m.
Officers responded to the unit block of South Rolling Road for an attempted theft from a vehicle. Officer Dante Annacone observed a parked, occupied vehicle in the area that fled upon seeing the police. A theft from an unlocked vehicle was later reported on the block. A wallet and debit card were stolen.

Sept. 1, 2:48 p.m.
Target, 1200 Baltimore Pike, reported a shoplifter in custody. A 34-year-old woman from Sharon Hill was observed loading two carts with merchandise and proceeding to the self-checkout. She rang up some of the items and bagged $668 of unpaid merchandise. She was apprehended by security as she was leaving the store. She was turned over to police and charged with Retail Theft.

Sep. 2, 1:45 a.m.
While on patrol, Officer Dan Boyd contacted a 15-year-old from Springfield in the 400 block of Powell Road. The juvenile was carrying a backpack filled with Michelob Ultra. He was transported to the police station and turned over to his mother. He will be cited for Township Curfew and Underage Drinking.

Sept. 2, 3:45 p.m.
Target, 857 Baltimore Pike, reported a shoplifter in custody. A 39-year-old woman from Collingdale was observed with a cart of merchandise at the self-checkout. She rang up some of the items and bagged $333 of unpaid bedding items. She was apprehended by security as she was leaving the store. She was turned over to police and charged with Retail Theft.
