Delco Eatery 'Charging' $5,200 For Being A Patriots Fan

Moral of the story: don't come into Eagles territory while wearing Patriots gear, especially with the Super Bowl on the horizon.

A Delaware County eatery has no qualms with giving New England Patriots fans a hard time, as one Pats fan who visited the shop was hit with a $5,200 "charge" for simply being a fan and having the gall to wear his Patriots gear in the business.

The Coffee Station in Morton had a Patriots fan come to their business on Thursday, Feb. 1.

His order total was $21.75 (without tax).

But the Patriots fan surcharge skyrocketed the bill to $5,535.06, tax included.

The customer took the joke in stride and the eatery's staff offered to buy him breakfast following the Eagles' win, as long as the customer wears Eagles gear.

"We tried to convert him," Coffee Station owner John Paciotti told Patch. "We gave him the Eagles chant and rang the bell for him. He cracked up."

The customer was a local guy, as well, according to Paciotti.

The idea for the faux charge came to Paciotti as he was leaving the his restaurant Thursday and saw the customer wearing a Patriots hat walking into the restaurant.

"I called my wife and told her to make a button on our cash register for Patriots fans and charge $5,200," he said.

Why $5,200? Super Bowl 52 of course.

Paciotti said the Morton Coffee Station and the Garnet Valley Coffee Station both have those buttons on their registers now and any Pats fan who shows up will get "charged."

This is nothing new for the Coffee Station, as Paciotti says he always tells Dallas Cowboys fans he will charge them double.

While Pats fan might see a high bill, Birds fans who come to the shop with their Eagles gear get 15 percent off their entire bills through Feb. 4.

Meanwhile, a Delaware County deli has entered a Super Bowl bet with a Massachusetts deli that has some hilarious caveats.

The moral of the story is don't rock your Pats gear in Eagles territory.
