Delco Man Accused Of Receiving Dead Lover's Social Security Money​

The man got nearly $50,000 in social security over about three years.

A Delaware County man has been accused of receiving social security funds intended for his dead lover and now faces one count of theft of government funds charge.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Abdulai Kamara, 47, of Folsom, received $47,992.30 in social security from his lover's death in May 2012 to June 2014.

Kamara faces a "substantial period of incarceration," a three-year period of supervised release, restitution of $47,992.30, a fine of up to $250,000, and a $100 special assessment, according to the attorney's office.

Kamara was investigated by the Social Security Administration, Office of Inspector General.

The case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Amanda R. Reinitz.
