Delco Reminds Residents Of Voter Registration, Absentee Deadlines

County officials are reminding voters of deadlines, how to register, how to check registrations, and more ahead of the Nov. 6 election.

Delaware County officials are reminding residents of the voter registration deadline ahead of the Nov. 6 general election.

The last day to register to vote in the General Election is Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018.

Citizens can register to vote at the Voter Registration Commission located in the lobby of the Delaware County Government Center, adjacent to the Courthouse, 201. W. Front St in Media. The regular office hours are from 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m. Monday through Friday.

Residents can also register to vote online here.

Voter registration forms are also available at all municipal buildings, libraries and wine and spirit stores throughout the county.

To be eligible to vote, an American citizen must be 18 years old by Election Day.

Therefore, citizens who turn 18 no later than Nov. 6, 2018 are eligible, if registered in time, to vote.

An eligible voter can learn if he or she is registered by going to the website here.

Residents with questions can contact the Voter Registration Commission (610) 891-4659. Hearing impaired residents can call the TDD line (610) 891-4306.

The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot for the General Election is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 30, 2018. The application must physically be in the Bureau of Elections by 5 p.m., not just postmarked. After 4:30 p.m. voters must enter the Government Center Building by the door off of Orange Street.

The deadline to submit regular civilian voted absentee ballots is 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, 2018. The voted ballot must physically be in the Bureau of Elections by 5 p.m., not just postmarked.

The Bureau of Elections is located on the ground floor of the Delaware County Government Center Building, adjacent to the Court House. The regular office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
