District Uses New Online Payment System
A New Payment System Brings Online Convenience to Springfield School District Parents.

It’s the mark of our times: the merging of the Internet with our day-to-day business. Now, the is among the first school systems in the country to bring that convenience to its parents by offering a new online payment processing system: PaySchools.
“More and more busy people turn to the Internet every month to pay their bills online, and we saw there was a need to offer that same kind of service to the parents and community members in our district.” said Don Mooney, Executive Director of Operations.
Through this system, parents can access PaySchools through the school’s web site to pay for school-related fees and products online, either by e-check, PayPal, Mastercard, Visa or Discover cards. The parent will immediately receive an e-mail receipt confirming their purchase(s).

PaySchools offers parents the ease of being able to make purchases 24 hours a day/seven days a week, the security of knowing the school receives payments, the protection of sensitive account information [credit card and bank account numbers are not stored in the database], and the convenience of having records of purchases and payments available online. Schools save significant labor costs by reducing manual processing of payments and handling fewer checks.
"This is a win-win opportunity to make life easier for parents and for the district," Mooney said.
