DUI, Theft, Drugs, Disorderly Conduct, More: Springfield Crime Blotter

Two Philadelphia women broke chairs, glass, and more when a fight broke out inside the Red Lobster on Baltimore Pike last week, police said.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Nov. 7 and Nov. 14.

Nov. 7 at 11:53 a.m.
While on patrol, Ofc. Bergman observed a male coming and going from the CVS store, 300 block of Baltimore Pike. The male possessed several bags and was questioned while walking along Baltimore Pike. Investigation revealed the male had stolen close to $700 worth of merchandise from the CVS. He was also found in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia and found to have an active arrest warrant from Bucks County. A 43-year-old Philadelphia man was taken into custody and held for arraignment. He was later transported to Delaware County Prison.

Nov. 8 at 9:54 a.m.
A business on the 900 block of West Sproul Road reported one of their vehicles had its catalytic converter stolen sometime overnight.

Nov. 9 at 3:27 hrs.
A 32-year-old male from Clifton Heights was stopped on the unit block of East Woodland Avenue after he was reported to have been looking into parked, unoccupied vehicles. He was found to be intoxicated on narcotics and found in possession of a quantity of suspected fentanyl and drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody and released to family. Drug charges will be filed.

Nov. 10 at 8:54 p.m.
Two females from Philadelphia will be charged with Disorderly Conduct after being involved in a fight inside the Red Lobster, unit block of Baltimore Pike, in which they damaged chairs, broke glass, and spilled food. One of the females left prior to police arrival, but the other was found in the parking lot.

Nov. 10 at 10:12 p.m.
Officers investigated a crash in which a vehicle drove into the rear of a stopped vehicle on State Road at Collins Drive. The driver of the striking vehicle, 34, of Media, was found to be intoxicated and taken into custody. He refused a blood test and was later released to family. Charges for DUI and traffic offenses will be filed.

Nov. 13 at 11:37 a.m.
A 56-year-old female from Collingdale was taken into custody after Macy’s security at the mall reported she stole over $65 worth of jewelry. They also reported the same female had stolen on four other occasions. She was released, and charges for Retail Theft will be filed.

Nov. 14 at 12:35 a.m.
While on patrol, Ofc. Oswald observed two subjects standing near a business on the 100 block of Baltimore Pike. He attempted to stop both and one ran. He identified the one stopped as a 17-year-old from Clifton Heights. The male was wearing a mask, gloves and was in possession of rocks. The other subject was tracked to the 800 block of North Avenue, but was not located. The male stopped was released to his mother and the investigation continuing by Det. McNeely.
