Guns Stolen, Vehicles Burglarized, DUI, And More: Springfield Police Blotter
Police reported three incidents of vehicles being broken into on May 22, with a gun being stolen in one case.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – Springfield Township Police released their latest crime update, providing information on what officers responded to over a few days in the township.
Check out what went down in the township between May 22 and May 25:
May 22, 8:32 a.m.
A resident reported three firearms were taken from his vehicle while it was parked at the intersection of Schuyler Road and School Lane sometime overnight. There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle.

May 22, 8:47 a.m.
A resident of the unit block of N. Alford Road reported a small amount of money was taken from his unlocked vehicle sometime overnight.
May 22, 8:36 p.m.
A resident of the 200 block School Lane reported his unlocked vehicle had been entered sometime overnight, and sunglasses and a checkbook are missing.

May 22, 10:52 p.m.
Ofc. Bierling investigated a disorderly group incident at the Parkway Inn on Baltimore Pike. Two subjects from New York were taken into custody and cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
May 23, 8:40 p.m.
A juvenile female from Prospect Park was taken into custody and cited for retail theft after being observed stealing $120 worth of clothing from Target at the mall.
May 24, 5:10 p.m.
Employees at Footlocker in the mall reported two males and a female distracted employees and stole over $1000 worth of clothing. They left the store and the mall before being apprehended.
May 25, 11:21 a.m.
While conducting traffic enforcement, Sgt. Vaughan stopped a vehicle for a violating a stop sign at Norwinden Drive and Fairview Road. He found the juvenile male driver was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The male was taken into custody and later turned over to a family member.
May 25, 1:19 p.m.
While on patrol at the mall, Ofc. Graff came across a subject acting suspiciously. He later found that the subject Travis Ludwig, 27 of Woodlyn, had an active arrest warrant from Bucks County. Ludwig was taken into custody and turned over to the Bucks County Sheriff office.
May 25, 1:28 p.m.
Ofc. Francis conducted an investigation of an accident involving a vehicle which drove into a tree on the 200 block South Norwinden Drive. He found the driver was intoxicated and in need of medical assistance. The driver, a 39-year-old male from Springfield, will be charged with DUI.
May 25, 5:39 p.m.
A juvenile male from Springfield was arrested and will be charged with retail theft after being observed by Macy's security stealing over $300 worth of clothing from their store in the mall.
Spoofing
Spoofing happens when a caller falsifies caller ID information to disguise their true identity. They typically use an official looking phone number making them appear to be from an official agency. They trick the public into giving up personal information and money. Be aware of these scams and never give personal information to unsolicited phone calls nor emails. Report scams to the IRS and FCC.
