Local Students Named to Who's Who Among Junior Colleges
Two students from Springfield are among 65 Delaware County Community College students who were recently named to 'Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.'

Sixty-five students from (DCCC) were recently named in the 2011-12 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges, three are students from the Springfield Patch area.
Donna Huyette and Meghan Stanley, of Springfield, and Noriyati Yacob, of Morton, were among those named to this year's list.
These students were selected as national outstanding campus leaders and will be recognized for their contributions to the college, according to a DCCC press release.

According to DCCC, a campus nominating committee comprised of faculty, administrators, staff and students selected the honorees. Students had to have earned a minimum grade point average of 2.5 and be considered sophomores (30 credits or more) at the time of nomination.
Decisions were based on students’ overall academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.

They join an elite group of students selected from nearly 3,000 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and several foreign nations, according to DCCC. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
