PD Blotter: Screens Cut In Attempted Home Invasion

Screen windows were cut in attempt to enter a home. There are also several reports of retail theft.

Man Charged with Simple Assault, Retail Theft

security in the 800 block of Baltimore Pike reported on June 12 at 8:45 p.m. that they had a male in custody for alleged retail theft at the store. Patrolman Sean Clifton responded and took a resident of the 7100 block of Seaford Road in Upper Darby into custody and transported him to the police station. He was charged with retail theft for allegedly taking $361 worth of merchandise from the store, simple assault for struggling with security after being apprehended and disorderly conduct. Detective Bridget McCarthy is handling the investigation.

Towing Supplies Lifted

A towing service from E. Woodland Avenue reported on June 13 at 1:28 p.m. that sometime overnight someone stole a yellow-colored metal air tank and two tire accessories from the rear bed of their tow truck parked at the business. The loss is valued more than $600.

Thief Flees with Video Games

security in the reported on June 13 at 2:11 p.m. that a man fled the store without paying for four video games. The suspect was last seen running through the main area of the mall. Patrolman Scott Francis responded and the area was checked but the thief was gone. The items are valued more than $140.

Window Screens Cut In Attempted Home Invasion

A resident from the 200 block of E. Woodland Avenue reported June 16 at 1:36 p.m. that sometime overnight someone attempted forcibly entered his home by cutting the screen on a window on the rear of the home. Another screen was removed to the bathroom window on the basement of the home. No entry was gained to the home. Detective Bridget McCarthy is handling the investigation.

Phone Supplies Lifted from AT&T Store

The store in the 1100 block of Baltimore Pike reported that sometime between 4 p.m. and 4:31 p.m. on June 16 someone stole a pair of earphone accessories and two phone cases from a display in the front of the store. The items are valued more than $200.

Woman Charged with Retail Theft

security in the reported on June 16 at 7:14 p.m. that they had a female in custody for alleged retail theft at the store. Patrolman Joseph O’Berg responded and took a Lansdowne resident into custody and transported her to the police station. She was charged with retail theft for allegedly taking $172.30 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective Bridget McCarthy is handling the investigation.

Forgotten iPhone Stolen

A Philadelphia resident reported that sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 4:02 p.m. on June 17 someone stole his iPhone while he was shopping at the in the 100 block of Baltimore Pike. He had placed the phone down to look at an item and left the store. When he realized that he didn’t have his phone, he returned to the store but it was gone. The phone is valued at $300.
