Springfield Cops: Local Teens Better Shape Up Or Face Consequences
The police chief said recent vandalism, traffic disruptions, and more form local teens will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted fully.

Springfield Township Police are officially warning parents that their kids, should they be caught engaging in illegal and dangerous behavior, will be prosecuted fully. In a Facebook message, Chief Joe Daly addresses parents of teens saying the township and police will not tolerate the behavior.
"Recently members of the large group of teenagers that congregate at various locations or roam throughout the Township have engaged in unlawful activity to include underage drinking, drug use, vandalism, littering, bullying, harassment, assaults and throwing stones at the trolley and even strong armed robbery," Daly said in his statement. "Groups on bikes play chicken with moving vehicles, block the roadway, and curse at motorists who challenge them."
Daly said these acts are unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

He goes on to say with the cooperation of the township's commissioners, police will have resources directed to them to combat these misbehaving teens.
"Sufficient police resources will be directed to properly address all incidents of unacceptable behavior and those found to be in violation of any laws will be prosecuted fully," Daly said. "Maintaining peace and harmony in the community is everyone's responsibility and I urge you to speak to your teenage children about respecting others and their property."
