SPRINGFIELD DEMOCRATS ANNOUNCE ENDORSEMENTS FOR 2014 PRIMARY ELECTION

During the 2014 Primary Elections, Democrats in Delaware County will be selecting candidates for the Democratic Party’s nomination for the following offices:  Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Representative in Congress, Senator in the General Assembly, and Representative in the General Assembly. 

Democrats will also be electing members of the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee, as well as local Delaware County Democratic Committee. 

• In Delaware County, we are electing ten (10) members of the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee.  Qualifications for the Office of Member of  the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee is Of the ten elected 5 must be women and 5 must be men.

• We are electing two (2) members of the Delaware County Democratic Committee in each voting precinct to serve in the precinct.  Qualifications to hold the office of Member of the Delaware County Democratic Committee is to be an elector, registered to vote in the Democratic Party in the precinct in which you are running.  If you are interested in pursuing a position serving on the Democratic County Committee in your voting precinct in Springfield, please contact the Springfield Democratic Committee by email (springfield.dems@gmail.com) or  by telephone (215-806-6286).

At its February 18, 2014 Committee Meeting, the Springfield Democratic Committee endorsed the following slate of candidates for the upcoming Primary Election:

CONGRESS (7TH DISTRICT): Dr. Mary Ellen Balchunis

STATE SENATE (26TH DISTRICT): John Kane

STATE REPRESENTATIVE (165TH DISTRICT): Jeremy Fearn

STATE REPRESENTATIVE (161ST DISTRICT): Leanne Krueger-Braneky

Members of the Springfield Democratic Committee and others will be visiting registered Democrats in Springfield seeking signatures on nominating petitions.  Petitioning began on February 18, 2014 and will continue through March 11, 2014.
