Springfield PD Hosting 'National Night Out' Event

Don't miss the Aug. 1 event that will couple family fun with crime and drug abuse prevention.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – Springfield Township Police are participating in the National Night Out event in early August and will offer residents family-friendly fun while educating them on crime and drug abuse prevention and strengthening police-community bonds.

The Springfield Crime Prevention and National Night Out event will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 1 at Springfield Country Club, 400 W. Sproul Road.

The evening will be full of food, games, raffle prizes, and more, as well as information on crime and drug abuse prevention.

"Together we can strengthen the partnership between Springfield residents and the Police and send a message to criminals that Springfield is organized and will always be a great community to live work and play," police said on an event flyer.

Many local businesses and organizations will be on hand with food, drink, and resources for community members.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live, according to National Night Out's website. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances, the website says.
