Springfield Police Blotter: 4 Vehicles Broken Into, DUI, Thefts

SPRINGFIELD, PA — The most recent Springfield Police crime blotter is out, and we have the details here.

See what went down in the township over the last week below:

June 10 at 4:53 p.m.
A shopper at the Springfield Mall reported briefly leaving her cell phone on a massage chair by accident and went into a store. When she returned to the chair, the phone was gone. The victim called the phone, and a male answered demanding money for the phone to be returned. Det. Nutley is investigating.

June 12 at 3:54 a.m.
Ryan Large, 32, of Pottstown was arrested for Public Drunkenness after being found passed out on the floor in the pharmacy area of CVS, 300 block of Baltimore Pike. He was found to be intoxicated and had walked to CVS after having an altercation with acquaintances at the Days Inn. He was held until sober.

June 12 at 9:37 p.m.
Four parked, unoccupied vehicles were forcibly entered and bags inside were taken at the Springfield Square South Shopping Center. The rear windows of the vehicles were smashed to gain entry. Det. McNeely is investigating.

June 13 at 11:57 p.m.
During a traffic stop for a stop sign violation on Foulke Lane, three juvenile males from Havertown, Media, and Drexel Hill were cited for Underage Drinking after being found to have consumed beer during an outdoor get together in a park nearby. All were turned over to family.

June 13 at 9:23 a.m.
A 26-year-old female from Drexel Hill was arrested for DUI after falling asleep trying to purchase a car on the 300 block of Baltimore Pike. Witnesses said the female had been at the dealership for four hrs. and at one point came out of a bathroom appearing intoxicated. They did not let her make a purchase in this condition, and she entered her car to leave when police arrived. She was found to have ingested narcotic pills and failed field sobriety tests. She did provide a blood sample and was released to a friend. Charges will be filed for DUI.

June 14 at 8:11 p.m.
Two females will be charged with Disorderly Conduct after engaging in a physical altercation in the drive- thru area of Chick Fil A 800 block of Baltimore Pike. They were not fighting over the last chicken sandwich, rather one driving a vehicle drove very closely to one walking in front and it started. Cell phones and drinks were thrown by both before punches, and then a witness broke it up.

June 15 at 2:28 a.m.
While on patrol, Sgt. McKenna observed a vehicle facing the wrong direction on School Lane at Brookside Road. The driver was unconscious and her foot on the brake. When she finally awoke, she exhibited signs of intoxication and thought she was in Drexel Hill. The 24-year-old female from Drexel Hill failed field tests and was asked to provide a blood test which she did. She was later released to family and will be charged with DUI.

June 15 at 6:26 p.m.
Officers investigated a crash on the unit block North Rolling Road in which a vehicle struck two parked cars and continued to drive a distance before stopping. Officers located the driver, a 24-year-old male from Springfield, and found him intoxicated. He was also found to have expired registration and insurance and refused a blood test. He was later released to family and will be charged with DUI and Traffic Offenses.

June 16 at 1:20 a.m.
A customer from the Red Iron Pub 600 block of Baltimore Pike reported leaving her purse on the bar while she went outside for a moment. When she returned her purse was gone. The purse contained a cell phone and money.

June 16 at 2:05 p.m.
Michelle McCorry, 25, of Malvern, was arrested after being observed at Target at the mall stealing beauty supplies and jewelry. She was found to have a quantity of suspected Heroin in her possession and was taken into custody, charged with Retail Theft and Drug Offenses, and taken to arraignment at Springfield Court.
