Springfield Police Blotter: Burglary, Road Rage, Thefts
Police said a home on the 400 block James Lane was burglarized on July 30 and had jewelry stolen from it. See the full blotter here.
SPRINGFIELD, PA – Springfield Police issued their most recent crime blotter Monday, highlighting crime in the township that occurred between July 30 and Aug. 5.
Notably, police handled a home burglary, a road rage incident, vehicle break-ins, and fighting at a hotel.

July 30 at 2:28 p.m.
A patron of the Ichiban Buffet and Grill on the 800 block Baltimore Pike reported that while eating inside the restaurant someone removed a wallet from her purse which was resting on a chair. Investigation found that her credit cards were later used at local store. Det. McNeely is investigating.
July 30 at 5:13 p.m.
Macy’s at the mall security reported a female had left the store with a large amount of clothing and shoes in her hand and did not pay. Security followed her out the front door, but she was able to leave in a vehicle before they caught up. Det. McCarthy is handling this one.

July 30 at 5:49 p.m.
A resident of the 400 block James Lane reported coming home from being out and finding damage to a rear door to the house. Police found that entry had been made to the house and a bedroom had been ransacked and a quantity of jewelry was missing. Det. McCarthy processed the scene and located several stolen items outside the house.
July 31 at 3:53 p.m.
A resident of the 400 block Lynbrooke Road reported someone had thrown a golf ball through a bedroom window causing damage.
July 31 at 5:20 p.m.
Police took a report of a patron of the Panera Bread on the 1000 block Baltimore Pike had a wallet stolen while she ate. Her credit cards were later used at a pharmacy in Springfield. Det. Devaney will follow-up.
Aug. 1 at 4:18 p.m.
Officers are investigating a road rage incident which ended with one of the drivers attempting to hit the other with a stun gun. Two vehicles had been on Springfield Road and one driver honked the horn at the other. The other followed the driver into the parking lot of Marple Crossroads Shopping Center, exited the vehicle and attempted to shock her with a stun gun. She was unsuccessful and left the area. Det. McCarthy is investigating.
Aug. 2 at 1:20 a.m.
Officers were called to the 100 block Rambling Way to investigate a disorderly person. Ofc. Christy located a 17-year-old male from Springfield loitering on a property. He was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. He was turned over to family and will be charged with underage drinking, public drunkenness and curfew.
Aug. 2 at 7:49 a.m.
Employees of Keystone Quality Transport on the 1200 block East Woodland Avenue reported finding eight of their vehicles had their catalytic converters removed and stolen sometime overnight from the parking lot.
Aug. 2 at 12:36 p.m.
A resident of the 900 block East Woodland Avenue reported that while working outside the house someone entered the house and stole a pair of sunglasses. Det. McNeely is investigating.
Aug. 3 at 10:07 p.m.
Officers responded to the Days Inn on the 600 block Baltimore Pike to investigate a fight. They found that several females had a disagreement over sleeping arrangements and one of the females attacked the other causing injury and damaging items in the room. The attacker left the hotel prior to police arrival but will be charged with disorderly conduct.
Aug. 4 at 8 p.m.
While a patron of the Ichiban Buffet on the 800 block Baltimore Pike was inside the restaurant someone smashed a window of his vehicle in the lot and removed a shoulder bag from the rear seat.
Aug. 5 at 2:11 p.m.
Giant food store on the 700 block West Sproul Road reported two subjects had stolen laundry detergent and left the store walking towards Sproul Road. Officer O’Berg located both subjects near Kennerly Road and stopped them. They were identified by the store as the thieves and taken into custody. Over $135 worth of detergent was recovered. Tyrone Johnson, 53, and Micheel Jennings 24, Chester, were charged with retail theft.
Aug. 5 at 4:11 p.m.
Target at the mall security reported observing a female concealing clothing inside a purse she was carrying. She also placed items in a shopping cart. She then paid for the items in the cart but attempting to leave without paying for the concealed items. Mary Clark 36, of Darby, was taken into custody and charged with retail theft and released.
