Springfield Police Blotter: DUI, Tires Slashed, Thefts, And More

SPRINGFIELD, PA – Springfield Township Police released its latest crime report. This one covers police activity between July 24 and July 30.

Crimes included DUI, car tires being slashed, thefts, and more.

July 24, 1:45 p.m.
Ofc. Graff investigated a crash on Thomson Avenue at Barker Road and observed the driver of one of the vehicles to be intoxicated. An adult male from Wynnewood was taken into custody and submitted to a blood test. Charges for DUI are pending.

July 27, 6:45 p.m.
A resident on the 900 block West Avenue reported that someone stole his adult size, blue colored mountain bike from his driveway sometime within ten minutes of the time of report. No suspects were observed.

July 26, 9:02 p.m.
Sgt. McKenna found an adult male from Springfield and a juvenile female from Linwood loitering in Veterans Memorial Park after hours. Both were cited for township parks violations. The juvenile was turned over to family.

July 27, 9:30 a.m.
A resident of the 100 block Wayne Avenue reported three of her vehicle tires were slashed sometime overnight. Det. McCarthy is investigating.

July 27, 1:13 p.m.
Target at the mall security reported having a subject in custody after they observed him steal a battery charger worth $10.60. Harish White 24, of Chester ,was taken into custody and cited for retail theft. He was later released.

July 28, 10:26 p.m.
An employee at Springfield Mall reported one of her vehicle tires was slashed sometime during the day as she worked. Sgt. Welsh with the help of Mall Security developed a suspect. Charges are pending.

July 28, 2:06 a.m.
Police responded to a hit and run crash on the 300 block Powell Road in which a Ford truck struck a parked vehicle. The suspected driver of the truck was quickly found on the 200 block of Powell Road and appeared intoxicated. He was taken into custody and submitted to a blood test. Charges are pending.

July 29, 4:31 p.m.
Two adult subjects, a male from Prospect Park and a female from Collingdale, were cited for disorderly conduct after being observed by Ofc. Hurwitz creating a disturbance on the 1000 block of Baltimore Pike near the shopping area.

July 29, 6:15 p.m.
A female reported her wallet was stolen from a storage area as she worked out at the Healthplex at Springfield Hospital.

July 30, 3:49 p.m.
Target at the mall security reported they had a female in custody for shoplifting $100 worth of cosmetics. Jennifer Novak 34, of Clifton Heights, was taken into custody and cited for retail theft.
