Springfield Police Blotter: Just 5 Incidents Handled Last Week

Police dealt with only a few cases last week, according to the most recent crime blotter. See what went down and details here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – Springfield Township Police issued their weekly crime report on June 5.

The most recent report is shorter than a typical report, containing only five incidents handled by police between May 28 and June 2.

May 28, 5:30 p.m.

Officers responded to the Target at the mall to investigate a theft. Target security reported observing a female take cosmetics and clothing and conceal the items inside a personal bag she was carrying. She then attempted to leave the store without paying and was stopped by security. They recovered over $120 worth of merchandise. Jaisha Gonzalez 22, of Newark, New Jersey, was taken into custody and charged with retail theft. She was later released.

May 29, 2:25 p.m.

Employees of the Sherwin Williams Store on the 300 block Baltimore Pike reported a quantity of money missing from their safe. Investigation revealed that on May 27 a male subject without authorization entered the area of where the safe is kept while employees were helping a customer. The male left the store out the rear and walked towards the rear of the car dealership next door. Money was found missing a short time after. Det. Devaney is investigating.

May 29, 3:59 p.m.

An employee of the Yo Crave Store on the 400 block Baltimore Pike reported her purse was missing from the counter area. Det. Devaney is investigating the incident which appears to involve an unknown male subject entering the business through a rear door and taking the purse.

June 2, 3:18 p.m.

Ofc. Kingsbury investigated a report of a road rage incident that occurred on State Road near the intersection of Collins Drive. He found that after two vehicles had an issue with a merge on the highway, both drivers pointed at each other using a long finger. When both vehicles stopped, one of the drivers exited her car and poured a drink on the other’s car windshield. The driver then re-entered her vehicle and drove away. Ofc. Kingsbury found the driver to be a 21-year-old female from Broomall. She will be charged with disorderly conduct and other motor vehicle code violations.

June 2, 6:05 p.m.

Police received a report of two juvenile males riding motorized scooters near Jane Lownes Park Kennerly Road. They were observed stopping their scooters and pouring a drink from a Mike’s Hard Lemonade bottle into a Gatorade bottle. A short time later, Ofc. Kingsbury located the juveniles riding their scooters in a nearby parking lot. He made contact with them and found them to have beer inside their backpack and found them to have been the males mixing "ades" (lemonade and Gatorade) in the park. Both males were turned over to their parents and will be charged with underage drinking.
