Springfield Police Blotter: Stolen Car, Thefts At Panera, More
Police said there were two thefts from diners' purses at Panera on Baltimore Pike in the last week. Details on these and more crimes here.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA – Springfield Police issued their weekly crime blotter on Tuesday, Dec. 18.
The blotter covers incidents that police handled in the last week.
Most notably, police dealt with a stolen vehicle, thefts from Panera Bread diners' purses, and a road rage incident.

Dec. 10 at 2:18 p.m.
A person reported she was scammed out of $400. She claimed she met a friend of a friend who said he worked for Best Buy and would upgrade her phone from an iPhone X to iPhone XR. She picked up this friend in Philadelphia and drove to Best Buy on Baltimore Pike. She gave him $400, and he walked into Best Buy only to not return.

Dec. 11 at 5:58 a.m.
A resident of the unit block West Avenue reported her Hyundai vehicle stolen from the street in front of the house. She started the vehicle to warm up and left it unattended for about 10 minutes.
Dec. 11 at 5:52 p.m.
A male subject reported that while sitting inside his vehicle in a parking lot on the 1200 block East Woodland Avenue a male came up to his window with a rake and smashed the window and struck the doors. The male said prior to this happening he had been involved in a road rage incident on Route 1 with another vehicle. Det. McNeely is investigating.
Dec. 12 at 10:53 a.m.
Officers responded to the Main Line Weight Management business, 700 block South Chester Road, for a report of a disorderly person. Employees there said a female patient entered the business without an appointment and demanded to be seen. They allowed her into an exam room where she played loud music on her cell phone as an annoyance. When seen by a P.A. she complained it was taking too long and just wanted her pills. Upon leaving at the front desk, the female cursed at employees and threw a water cooler to the ground spilling water. The female was identified as Mindee Segal, 53, of Philadelphia. Segal was charged with disorderly conduct.
Dec. 12 at 4:45 p.m.
A patron of Panera Bread, 1000 block Baltimore Pike, reported four credit cards had been stolen from her purse as she dined at about noon. The credit cards were later used at a CVS and Rite Aid store. Det. Nutley is investigating.
Dec. 14 at 1:30 p.m.
A resident of the 600 block Sherman Road reported that she observed a male subject via her video surveillance system at about 2:15 a.m. attempt to enter her locked vehicles parked in the driveway. She yelled at the subject who she last observed walking towards Hey Lane. Video of this subject was posted on our Twitter and Facebook social media sites. Det. McCarthy is investigating.
Dec. 14 at 10:16 p.m.
A victim reported that while shopping at the Hallmark Store, 1000 block Baltimore Pike, she was at the checkout counter when a male subject placed his coat over her purse. She finished her purchase and left the store. She was later contacted by her bank notifying her of unauthorized purchases made on her credit card.
Dec. 15 at 11:07 a.m.
A patron of Panera Bread, 1000 block Baltimore Pike, reported her wallet was removed from her purse which had been hanging over the chair she was sitting in while she ate at about 10:30 a.m. She discovered the wallet missing and was later contacted by her bank advising her of purchases made at the Target store at the mall. Det. McNeely is investigating.
Dec. 16 at 11:50 p.m.
Officers investigated a hit-and-run crash which occurred on the 200 block South Bishop Avenue. The striking vehicle was located parked in the rear lot of Miller’s Ale House with damage on the passenger side. Officers made contact with the driver and found him to be intoxicated. Christopher Sheeler, 41, of Media, was arrested for DUI and held for arraignment.
