Jan, 7, 8:39 p.m.
Officers responded to Macy’s Springfield Mall for a report of two subjects who had been concealing merchandise inside a shopping bag. When confronted by Macy’s security they ran through the rear parking lot. Responding officers located both subjects running towards Baltimore Pike and stopped them. Recovered merchandise was about $150. Derek Jones, 21, Clarence Rowland, 22, both of Philadelphia, were taken into custody and charged with retail theft.
Jan. 8, 7:17 a.m.
Four people reported their vehicles had been forcibly entered and items removed from inside while the vehicles were parked in the Springfield Shopping Center lot near Orangetheory Fitness.

Jan. 8, 1:51 p.m.
A woman reported that while a patron inside the Panera Bread, 1000 block Baltimore Pike, someone stole her wallet from her purse and used the stolen credit cards to make purchases. Det. McCarthy is investigating.
Jan. 9, 6:02 a.m.
Target, 800 block Baltimore Pike, reported one of their employees was observed on multiple occasions stealing electronics from the stockroom. The employee, 21, of Philadelphia, will be charged with theft.
Jan. 9, 8:59 a.m.
Ofc. Cutcliff received a license plate reader activation for a stolen license plate on the 1000 block Woodland Avenue. He stopped the vehicle and investigated the driver. He located drugs and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, and the driver was found to have recently smoked marijuana. The 23-year-old female from Philadelphia was taken into custody and will be charged with DUI and drug offenses. She was released to a friend.
Jan. 9, 8:15 p.m.
A resident of the 300 block Gleaves Road reported a package delivered to his house was later stolen by another delivery driver who had delivered a second package. This was caught on surveillance camera by the victim. Det. Nutley is investigating.
