The new blotter covers police activity between May 21 and May 27.
Police handled thefts, DUI, a fight, and more.

May 21, 8:13 a.m.
Officers responded to a fight call in the parking lot of LAFitness, 800 block Baltimore Pike, but what they found was a victim of a theft who was trying to get his stuff back. A member of the club was exercising and noticed his duffle bag in his locker had been rummaged and a car key was missing. He went outside to his car and found the thief inside looking for more. A brief struggle ensued before the thief broke free and ran to a waiting vehicle and left the area. Det. McNeely is following up leads.

May 21, 9:45 p.m.
Sgt. Shull responded to the unit block of Server Lane to investigate a hit and run crash of a parked vehicle. While he was on scene, the driver of the striking vehicle drove back to the area not to do her duty but because she was intoxicated and didn’t know where she was. The 46-year-old female from Philadelphia was taken into custody and submitted to a blood test. Charges for DUI and hit and run are pending.
May 24, 5:42 p.m.
A shopper from Target at the mall reported that while walking around the store for about 90 minutes, someone took her purse from the shopping cart she was pushing. Det. Devaney is investigating.
May 27, 11:43 a.m.
Employees at the Giant 700 block West Sproul Road reported observing a vehicle backing onto their sidewalk, and a male loading cases of water inside the vehicle without paying. Giant reviewed surveillance and found that this same person did not pay for water on two other occasions, and now the police are involved. Det. Devaney will be following up.
May 27, noon
Bath and Body Works at the mall reported two thefts of merchandise one at noon and one at 5:07 p.m. In both incidents two females selected a numerous amount of bath and body works, concealed the works in a bag, and left the store without paying. While Officers were taking the second report, a similar theft was occurring at the Bath and Body Works in Marple Township. Three subjects were detained and identified at the Marple location. Det. Devaney will follow up with Marple PD.
May 27, 7:30 p.m.
Target at the mall security reported a subject in their custody for stealing baby formula. They noticed a male in the store pushing a shopping cart full of merchandise including food. The male then selects multiple cans of baby formula and clothing and goes to a register. The male paid for the food but did not pay for the formula nor clothing. He then tried to leave before being stopped at the exit. Christopher Gordy 27, of Chester, was taken into custody and charged with retail theft.
