Springfield Police Blotter: Unlocked Vehicles Rifled Through
In addition to the gunfight at the mall, Springfield Police handled several other incidents, including thefts from unlocked vehicles.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA – The latest Springfield Township Police blotter is out.

Police said several unlocked vehicles were entered and had items stolen between Oct. 16 and Oct. 19.

Oct. 16, 10:56 p.m.
Ofc. DiRemigio observed a vehicle traveling on Sproul Road near Sheffield Drive dragging its front bumper. He was able to stop the vehicle in the parking lot of Olde Sproul Shopping Center. The driver of the vehicle exhibited signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. Drug paraphernalia was found inside the vehicle. Officers found the driver had struck a traffic sign on Sproul Road near the mall entrance. The driver was identified as Alison Kline 27, of Glenside. She was arrested and refused a blood test. She was charged with DUI, drug offenses and traffic offenses and held for arraignment.

Oct. 17, 8 a.m.
Four unlocked vehicles were entered sometime overnight on the 200 block of Ridgewood Road, 400 block of Larchwood Road, 300 block of Fairview Road, and the 200 block of Rambling Way. A small amount of coins and sunglasses were taken.
Oct. 17, 8:10 a.m.
A patron at the Target Store on the 800 block of Baltimore Pike reported someone had entered her unlocked vehicle while she shopped inside. A pocket book was taken from inside.
Oct. 17, 9:52 p.m.
Target at the mall security reported two subjects in custody for stealing about $420 worth of women’s clothing. Adejah Lewis 21, of Philadelphia, and Tajinae Williams 22, of Bear, Delaware, were arrested and charged with retail theft. They were held for arraignment at District Court.
Oct. 19, 8:07 a.m.
A contractor conducting work on the 1100 block of Church Road reported sometime overnight someone removed his construction equipment from the back deck of the property.
Oct. 19, 9:41 a.m.
A person playing with her children at Memorial Park reported a diaper bag containing money and credit cards was removed from her vehicle.
Oct. 20, 1:05 p.m.
Officers responded to the Springfield Mall 1200 block of Baltimore Pike after a report of a shooting incident. They learned that two groups of male subjects had a verbal altercation inside the mall which extended into the parking lot where gunfire was exchanged. Four parked vehicles were struck by bullets including one vehicle which was occupied. No injuries occurred. Suspects left the parking lot in a silver Nissan Altima.
