Springfield Police Blotter: Warrants, Underage Drinking, More
Springfield Township Police cited several youths for underage drinking last week. See details on those incidents and others here.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA – The latest Springfield Township Police crime blotter is out and it covers police-handled incident that occurred between Sept. 24 and Sept. 29 in the township.
Police handled underage drinking, theft, warrant arrests, and more in that time frame.

Sept. 24 at 9:07 p.m.
Target at the mall security reported having stopped a female for stealing $490 worth of infant merchandise. Officers responded and took Briana Shelley, 23, of Philadelphia, into custody. She was charged with retail theft and held for arraignment.
Sept. 26 at 1:25 p.m.
Security agents from Target, 800 block Baltimore Pike, reported they had stopped a female after observing her steal over $850 worth of merchandise from the store. Officers took Jenna Tiffany 29, of Folsom, into custody and charged her with retail theft. She was held for arraignment.
Sept. 27 at 12:55 p.m.
Employees at CVS, 700 block Chester Road, reported observing two males put over $600 worth of Crest white strips in a trash bag in an attempt to steal them. When confronted, the males dropped the bag and fled from the store.

Sept. 28 at 1:55 p.m.
A male reported he had answered an ad on Facebook to buy a truck for $3000. The seller asked for a $2500 deposit which the male wired to him. To finish the transaction, the male met the seller at Best Buy, 600 block Baltimore Pike, and provided the final $500. The seller said he needed to pick something up inside the store before delivering the truck, and never returned to deliver the truck.
Sept. 28 at 9:08 p.m.
A female student will be cited for underage drinking after being observed by high school staff on the bleachers during the football game intoxicated.
Sept. 28 at 9:58 p.m.
While on patrol, Sgt. McKenna and Ofc. Kingsbury came upon a group of juveniles on the 200 block Franklin Ave. running towards a vehicle and entering it. Contact was made with the group and they were found to have been drinking beer. They will be charged with underage drinking and were turned over to family.
Sept. 29 at 12:48 p.m.
Ofc. Cutcliff observed a male subject loitering around businesses on the 500 block Baltimore Pike. The subject was identified and found to be staying at the Days Inn and had no legitimate reason for being around the closed properties. A warrant check of the subject revealed an arrest warrant from Philadelphia for probation violation on a burglary charge. John Golden, 31, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody and turned over to Philadelphia Warrant Unit. Ofc. Hurwitz went to the Days Inn for further investigation on Golden and found Thomas Marone, 37, of Secane, inside Golden’s room. Marone was found to have an active arrest warrant from Delaware County for a probation violation on a theft charge. He was taken into custody and transported to Delaware County Prison.
Sept. 29 at 10:35 p.m.
While on patrol, Sgts. Welsh and Purcell came upon a juvenile male on the unit block East Scenic Road. The male was found to be intoxicated. He was turned over to his family and will be cited for underage drinking.
