Springfield Police Report: Drug Possession, Thefts, More
Police are urging residents to lock their vehicles after getting reports of attempted vehicle break-ins throughout last week. See more here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – The latest Springfield Township Police blotter was released Monday, June 18.
The report covers eight incident that occurred in the township between June 11 and June 17.
Police also issued a warning to vehicle owners in the township after getting reports of attempted vehicle break-ins.

Several unlocked vehicles were entered at nighttime during the week in the area of Greenbriar Lane and Bradford Terrace Witnesses observed a subject trying door handles of parked vehicles in that area. A great majority of thefts from vehicles can be avoided by locking your cars.

June 11, 11:48 a.m.
A resident of the unit block of Saxer Avenue reported that three newly planted bushes and a freshly trimmed tree along the property line had been sprayed with a substance that killed them and the grass around the area.
June 12, 1:02 p.m.
A landscaper had been cutting grass on the 300 block of Memorial Park Drive and discovered a backpack blower had been taken from his truck.
June 12, 1:18 p.m.
Three males entered the AT&T store on the 700 block West Sproul Road, cut cords to two Samsung cell phones on display and removed the phones. They ran out of the store and left in a silver vehicle with a Delaware registration plate. Det. Devaney is investigating.
June 12, 5:22 p.m.
Target at the mall security reported observing a male select numerous pieces of merchandise including clothing, picture frames, and food. The male brought these items to the Rug Department and concealed them inside a large shopping bag. He then tried to leave without paying for the items. Rufus Salik. 4, of Upper Darby, was taken into custody and charged with retail theft. He was taken for arraignment to Springfield Court.
June 13, 11:48 a.m.
Target at the mall security reported observing a female in the Women’s Clothing Department select clothing and conceal the clothing inside a handbag she was carrying. She then concealed cosmetics inside the handbag. The female went to a cashier and paid for several items but not the items she placed inside her handbag. Nicole Davis 51, of Clifton Heights, was taken into custody and charged with retail theft. She was later released.
June 14, 2:29 p.m.
On June 11, CVS on Chester Road reported that a male subject had mistakenly placed over $100 worth of Crest White Strips down his pants and left the store without paying. He came back to the store on June 14 and took some more to try again. Det. Devaney and McCarthy are investigating.
June 16, 1:21 a.m.
A male and female while walking along the 300 block North Bishop Avenue were creating a disturbance and walking into traffic. Sgt. McKenna located the two subjects who were intoxicated and verbally fighting with each other. Both subjects, adults from Upper Darby, were turned over to family and will be charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
June 17, 1:22 a.m.
Ofc. Dunkle located two juveniles, a male and female both from Springfield, walking along East Leamy Avenue. Both were found to be intoxicated on marijuana and in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both were taken into custody and turned over the family. Charges are pending.
