Springfield School District Closing For Super Bowl Parade
A make up day has been set for early April, according to the school district.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – As the Philadelphia area prepares for the historic Super Bowl parade Thursday following the Eagles win over the Patriots in Super Bowl 52, some schools are closing so their students, faulty, and staff can attend.
And Springfield School District is one of them.
The district said Monday that it will close its doors Thursday, Feb. 8.

"In recognizing that Thursday’s Eagles parade is an historic event, which will significantly influence the Delaware County Region, we believe attendance for both students and staff will be drastically impacted," the district said in its announcements. "Therefore, we have decided to make a calendar change to better serve our academic purpose."
The district will make up the missed day on Monday, April 2.

"Congratulations to our Philadelphia Eagles," the district said in the announcement.
The School District of Philadelphia, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and Upper Darby School District have already announced their schools will be closed Thursday.
The parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8 at Broad and Pattison streets in South Philadelphia and make its way up to the Art Museum.
