Springfield Voters Cast Ballots, Republicans Vie for 6th Ward Seat

Ward 6 has the only contested primary race for commissioners here with two republicans vying for that seat.

Today, May 17, residents vote for commissioners in Wards 1, 3, 5, 6, and 7.

Ward 6 voters choose in the primary between former Ward 6 Commissioner James Devenney (R), who hopes to win the seat from which he resigned, and incumbent Commissioner Robert Layden (R), who was appointed to the Ward 6 seat following Devenney's resignation.

Michael Keller is running uncontested in the primary on the democratic side.
