Sellers are always asking what will yield the best return on their investment when selling their property.
If you are thinking down the road in terms of selling then you may want to consider the following:
1 - Outside Deck
2- Good Siding (insulated)
3- Kitchen remodeling.
I realize if you are selling in the very near future, this may not be possible.
The best advice short term is a fresh coat of paint and flooring (whether it be new carpeting or finishing your hardwood floors.) These are quick fixes that can welcome prospective buyers.
