Although the new Walmart has a Springfield mailing address and is serviced by the , it is officially in the Township of Marple.
So who gets the tax revenue benefit? Marple Township.
Springfield Assistant Township Manager Susan Warner said Springfield gets tax revenue from the , and the , but not the or Walmart in the .
Springfield will undoubtedly share in the new store’s affect on the area, with increased traffic bringing more potential for vehicle accidents and further need for police and fire resources.
How will this need for additional police and fire resources be handled?
