Conestoga Teacher's Aide Allegedly Had Sex With Student
TE is under fire again. A woman who coached and taught at the Main Line school is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

TREDYFFRIN, PA -- A teacher's aide and coach at Conestoga High School has been arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a student, according to a letter released to parents by the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District.
Christine Towers, of Phoenixville, served as a paraeducator. She resigned from the District on April 19, before charges were filed.
"When those placed in positions of supporting our children are charged with violating a fundamental trust, it is deeply disturbing to us all," Richard Gusick, superintendent of the district, wrote. "The welfare of our students remains a top priority. We will continue to support all students as this case moves through the criminal justice system."

Towers served as the girls soccer and track coach at Tredyffrin/Easttown Middle School for two years, the district said.
During the 2015-2016 school year, she coached JV girls soccer, 9th grade girls basketball, and JV girls softball at Conestoga High School, according to the district.

The district said that they are "not aware" that the inappropriate relationship which Towers is accused of carrying on occurred with an athlete she coached or a student she taught.
This is just the latest in a string of scandals that have rocked a school district routinely ranked among the best in Pennsylvania and the nation.
In March, allegations of severe hazing on the football team surfaced, leading to the head coach resigning and the rest of the staff being fired.
In November, a sexting scandal in the middle school was uncovered in which students were sharing pornographic images of underage classmates.
Anyone who has any relevant information to the Towers case is asked to contact Chester County Detective Jerry Davis at (610) 344-6866.
Editor's note: A previous version of this story stated she was a teacher but she is in fact a paraeducator. Patch regrets the error.
